Mappin & The Heartspace

The Sir Frederick Mappin building has been the centre of engineering for the last 150 years and the Engineering Heartspace, which is housed under a new, curved glass roof, links together the Grade II listed building with the 1885 Central Wing.

Our world-leading translational research facilities are based at the heart of the University of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ's Innovation District. The three centres, along with the AMRC, build upon the ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ City Region's manufacturing and digital strengths to support the UK Government's Industrial Strategy.

Royce Translational Centre

One of the prestigious Henry Royce Institute facilities, the Royce Translational Centre is home to Royce at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ and the metal research group of the AMRC, the National Metals Technology Centre (NAMTEC). It accelerates the transfer of knowledge to industry in the field of Advanced Metals Processing.
